Property Dispute Between Belize City Attorneys Heads to Court

A property dispute involving two prominent Belize City attorneys has emerged and is now before the courts.  Love News has confirmed that a property located on Church Street in Belize City is at the center of a legal battle between attorneys Dr. Lynden Jones and Orson Elrington.

Information available to our newsroom indicates that Dr. Jones purchased both the property and the structure situated on it. However, despite the reported sale, the premises remain occupied by attorney Orson Elrington, who has allegedly refused to vacate the building.  Love News understands that legal proceedings have since been initiated, with attorneys acting on behalf of Dr. Jones filing a court application seeking an order for Elrington to vacate the property.  In response, Elrington has reportedly filed a counterclaim challenging the ownership claim. Love News further understands that the counterclaim alleges that the property was acquired through fraudulent means. Those allegations have not been tested in court, and no findings have been made regarding their merits.  The dispute has now developed into a legal contest over the ownership and occupancy of the Church Street property, with both sides advancing competing claims that will ultimately be determined through the judicial process.  As the matter is currently before the courts, Love News will continue to monitor developments and seek comment from all parties involved.  This is a developing story, and we will have more details as they become available.
