Proposal for Fixed Election Date Still Under Consideration – Malahoo Forte

Minister of Legal and Constitutional Affairs, Marlene Malahoo Forte is reiterating that the move towards fixed election dates remains under active consideration.

She was speaking on Cliff Hughes Online on Monday.

It’s been several years since Prime Minister, Dr. Andrew Holness promised a fixed election date.

It was part of the JLP’s 2011 Manifesto.

Minister Malahoo Forte says the matter was brought before the Constitutional Reform Committee.

She says at the time, concerns around the practicality was raised.
