
The popular publisher, Travel and Tour World (TTW) has forecast Belize to achieve unprecedented success in its tourism sector this year, joining a cohort of nations across the Americas and the Caribbean experiencing a phenomenal travel renaissance. According to its article dated today, with global demand for travel projected to exceed pre-pandemic levels, Belize, alongside the Dominican Republic, Canada, Mexico, the Bahamas, Grenada, and Antigua and Barbuda, is driving a regional surge in visitor arrivals, spending, and economic impact. It added that Belize, in particular is riding a wave of inbound tourism growth that saw a remarkable 30% jump in international arrivals in 2024. Projections indicate that 2025 will surpass the country’s previous record, with over 550,000 overnight visitors expected, exceeding the 2019 peak of 503,000. The publication goes on to note that the country’s focus on eco-conscious travelers and adventure seekers has been a key driver of this success. This tourism boom is expected to translate into substantial economic benefits for Belize. It is unclear how the figures and calculations were derived, but according to TTW, Belize’s tourism revenue is projected to approach $750 million in 2025, with strong performance anticipated across both cruise and overnight segments.
