Punta Gorda Man Released After Violent Park Altercation Leaves One Injured

Punta Gorda police have released Karl Martinez, 51, better known as “Sadam”who was detained for chopping Mark Usher, 45, on Saturday evening DURING AN ALTERCATION in Punta Gorda Central Park. Police say Usher received major wounds to both sides of his head, as well as injuries to his forehead and left elbow. Following the incident, he was promptly transported to the Southern Regional Hospital where he remains hospitalized under police guard.

Martinez  was also injured during the scuffle with abrasions to his lips and neck.
