PUP Endorses Pablo Cawich and Belmopan Municipal Slate

The People’s United Party has officially endorsed its Belmopan slate for the upcoming municipal elections, with Mayor Pablo Cawich seeking another term in office.  The endorsement was held on Friday night. Earlier in the day, Cawich said the party was preparing for a crowd of about two thousand supporters. Attendance, however, appeared to be closer to three hundred, despite the event offering free food and alcoholic drinks for two dollars.

The programme went ahead as planned, with the PUP formally presenting Cawich as its mayoral candidate. The six councillor candidates are Chris Enriquez, Lawrence Tush, Florita Botes, Radin Santos, Coretta Banner and Sani Cal.  During the event, the slate was introduced to supporters as the team the party hopes will retain control of the capital.
