Saleem Henry scored a pair of goals as Queen’s Park Cricket Club blanked Palo Seco Union Hall United 2-0 to close the gap on idle T&T Premier Football League Tier II Division One leaders T&T Police FC at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar, on Saturday.

Following a goalless first half, Henry put the visitors ahead in the 49th minute and added a second four minutes into injury time to seal the three points and moved the Parkites to 32 points from 15 matches, two behind T&T Police, who entertain the University of T&T at the Ken Cooke Ground, St James Police Barracks, St. James, on Wednesday from 6 pm.

Third-placed Carnbee/Mt. Pleasant with 27 points also picked up three valuable points in a 1-0 win over Malabar Young Stars thanks to a Miguel George goal in the 84th minute at the Black Rock Recreation Ground, Courland.

And in the two other matches on Saturday, Dylon King’s second-half double led last year’s winners T&T Defence Force to a 5-2 hammering of Central Soccer World at Defence Force Reserves Ground, Macqueripe, Chaguaramas, while Leroy Whyle scored a hat-trick (40th, 83rd, 84th) for 2024 winners Harlem Strikers in their 5-0 bashing of Matura Reunited at Ancil Elcock Ground in Caroni.

City FC blanks Division Two leaders Sidey’s SC

Three different players got a goal each to lead City FC to a 3-0 shutout of Division Two leaders Sidey’s FC at the T&T Defence Force Reserves Ground, Macqueripe, Chaguaramas, on Sunday.

The trio of Keston Richards (25th), Nadeem Grant (31st), and Myle Yorke (42nd) all scored first-half items for City to secure the win and climb to 27 points from 134 matches, just one behind Sidey’s SC.

In another key encounter, T&T Prison Service got goals from Emmanuel Bunting in the 44th and a decisive item from Josiah Joseph in the 89th to snatch a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over host Club Sando/Pro Series at Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella, to improve to 24 points, one adrift of their opponents.

Also on Sunday, Petit Valley/Diego Martin United held off San Fernando Giants 2-1 at St Anthony’s College Ground, Westmoorings; RSSR FC edged rivals Miscellaneous Laventille United 1-0 at Park Street, Morvant, via a lone item from Antonio Sealey; and Eagles FC also won 1-0 at home against Bethel SC at Balmain Recreation Ground, Couva, with Tyreeke Rock on target in the 51st minute.
