Queen Ifrica speaks out after Countree Hype pleads guilty

Reggae singer Queen Ifrica is speaking out following reports that producer Countree Hype pleaded guilty in a U.S. federal firearms trafficking case linked to Jamaica.

During a TikTok live with Dancehall War, Queen Ifrica said it doesn’t sit right with her to hear of a music producer sending guns to Jamaica.

Countree Hype, who has worked on tracks including Cree for Alkaline and Rasta for Valiant, is accused of attempting to smuggle firearms and ammunition into the island.

According to federal prosecutors, the weapons shipment, which allegedly included 30 firearms, 32 magazines, and over 100 rounds of ammunition concealed inside office chairs was intercepted by Jamaican authorities in March 2025.

The case sparked a federal investigation in the United States.

Countree Hype is awaiting sentencing and faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
