Heavy rains did very little to damper the spirits of the hundreds of patrons who turned out to the Bloody Bay Recreation Ground to satisfy their appetites at the annual Tobago Blue Food Festival.

The event held on October 19 celebrates the versatility of the root crop, dasheen. Apart from the traditional blue food dishes, dasheen ice cream, drinks and indigenous craft market, there was also a display by the Wildlife Association of Tobago as visitors got the opportunity to pet snakes, a caiman, monkeys and even parrots. This delighted onlookers, many of whom took out their cellphones to capture the moment.

Another highlight of the event was the lively entertainment, which featured several Tobago artistes and other local performers. Among those performing were Tobago October carnival Junior Calypso Monarch Koquice Davidson along with soca artistes Shurwayne Winchester and Farmer Nappy.
