The rain came down, but the crowd came out. Thousands of Jamaicans turned up at Swiss Lee’s party in the National Stadium parking lot, where Nigerian viral sensation DeeMan emerged as a major crowd favourite.
Clips circulating online showed patrons chanting for the content creator and artiste, also known as DeeMan OhMyJeez, whose Jamaican visit has helped turn online attention into an enthusiastic local following.
Performances from Merkz and Silk Boss, along with special guest appearances and a line-up of DJs, kept the entertainment flowing despite the inclement weather.
Teejay was absent, with his non-appearance attributed to a previously scheduled overseas engagement.
For DeeMan, the reception marked another chapter in a rapid rise that began when he went viral on Twitter, now X, in Nigeria in 2022. His signature “Oh My Jeez” delivery and slang helped build his following, but his interactions with Jamaicans have given that popularity fresh momentum.
His visit has included appearances on Television Jamaica’s Daytime Live, while his livestreams with local personalities have kept fans engaged beyond the television screen.
One gesture proved particularly eye-catching: he shaved a Jamaican flag design into the sides of his hair, sharing the transformation on a livestream alongside local figures, including Swiss Lee.
That embrace of the island has been matched by substantial online interest. An October 8 TikTok broadcast reportedly attracted nearly 400,000 total views—not a count of simultaneous viewers.
At Swiss Lee’s party, however, the response needed no digital counter. The chants from the stadium parking lot showed just how strongly the Nigerian visitor has connected with Jamaican fans.
