Pan Trinbago president Beverley Ramsey-Moore says her organisation will continue to push the boundaries of the steelpan and strengthen its legacy for future generations.

In her end-of-year message on December 31 she listed several achievements including Pan Trinbago’s Steelpan Ambassador Programme, innovation and digital transformation, and improved stakeholder and international relations.

She said its achievements were the result of collaboration and participation of every player, old and new, and every supporter, whether it be financial or practical. And the organisation was committed to innovation and growth, and will honour traditions while embracing progress.

“For the 2025-2026 period, under the theme Leaps Within and Beyond Bounds, we will embrace boldness, vision and innovation. We will strengthen our roots, reinforcing governance, empowering steelbands and consolidating national pride, while also daring to go beyond boundaries, expanding our global presence, harnessing technology, advancing cultural diplomacy and propelling the steelpan into new spaces across the world.

“Together, we are strengthening the steelpan legacy, uniting our community, and charting a bold course for the future.

“Our mission is clear: to preserve, promote, and propel the steelpan, a legacy forged in fire, carried forward with love and celebrated by all.”

During the year, Pan Trinbago plans to further expand entrepreneurial opportunities for its musicians, tuners and cultural artisans; embed the steelpan deeper into international festivals and cultural diplomacy; advocate for the realisation of a new Pan Trinbago headquarters; and to continue safeguarding the recognition, respect and rights of the artform so young people could inherit a stronger movement.

Ramsey-Moore said Pan Trinbago was no longer just a story of survival, but one of ascension, of triumph and of cultural affirmation.

“The steelpan belongs to the world, but its soul will always belong to Trinidad and Tobago. Together, let us ensure that its voice echoes across generations and nations without end.”
