Rancho Dolores villager remanded to prison for sexually assaulting a 5-year-old boy

Twenty-one-year-old Keon Alex Belisle, a maintenance worker from Rancho Dolores Village, Belize District, is now on remand at the Belize Central Prison after being arraigned on a single charge of rape.  Belisle is being accused of forcing a 5-year-old boy to perform oral acts on him.  The incident took place on Monday morning in rural Belize.  Police were called out to the area around midday, and arrested Belisle.  Love News understands that the accused had taken his employer’s child into the pasture and forced him to commit the sexual act.  A neighbour reportedly saw what was happening and was able to intervene.  Belisle appeared unrepresented before a Senior Magistrate this morning. Due to the severe nature of the charge, which is an indictable offense, no plea was taken from Belisle. The Senior Magistrate informed him that his case would be tried in the High Court, and that bail could not be granted by the lower court for such an offense.  Belisle was remanded to prison and ordered to reappear in court on September 26.
