Rebel Salute organizers are facing strong criticism after postponing their US debut, which was originally set for September 28. The new date is now April 19, 2026.
Organizers cited weather conditions and patron safety as the reasons for the delay, but many fans online are not convinced. In the comments section of Rebel Salute’s Instagram page, supporters questioned the explanation and demanded refunds.
One person wrote, “Where is the severe weather at? I am still waiting for the thunderstorms that caused the show to be pushed back until April 2026. Very poor organization.”
Another added, “No severe weather was ever forecast for the festival area. It was a beautiful day. Refund please.”
Other fans argued that scheduling a show during hurricane season was a risky decision, while many called for refunds instead of waiting seven months.
When contacted by Music News, Tony Rebel’s daughter Jahyudah, who is also a director of Rebel Salute, about the refund demands and claims that weather wasn’t the real reason for the postponement this is what she said.
Before the postponement, Queen Ifrica, who was billed for the event, issued a PSA pulling out of the lineup. She explained that the terms of her agreement were not met and emphasized that artists should be treated with professionalism and respect.
Rebel Salute will now take place on April 19, 2026, after its annual staging in Jamaica in January.
