Rebel Salute Founder Tony Rebels says he will be taking the show to Florida for 4/20, marking the first time that the 31-year-old festival will leave Jamaica.

"Plans are far advanced, or else I would not have announced it," Rebel told The Gleaner.

"That's why there's only one night in Jamaica this year. Some people can't come here so we are taking Rebel Salute to them."

April 20, or 4/20 (pronounced 'four/twenty') as it is known is internationally recognised in cannabis culture for the staging of cannabis-related protests and events and for the consumption and celebration of marijuana.

SATISFIED WITH TURNOUT

The promoter insisted that he was happy with the turnout at Plantation Cove in St Ann.

"What's mine is mine. I am satisfied. The real Saluters turned out and they are enjoying themselves."

Whereas VIP was almost full, the same could definitely not be said of the general section. And, in stark contrast to another event held at the same venue two weeks ago, there was no traffic getting to the venue.

Good performances have so far come from Tony Rebel himself, General Degree, Echo Minott, Dawn Penn and Errol Dunkley.
