Red Force’s Seales, Phillip Heading to UK for County Championship

West Indies and Trinidad and Tobago fast bowlers Anderson Phillip and Jayden Seales will be heading to the UK later this month to take up contracts with their respective County Championship sides.

Twenty-three-year-old Seales will return to Sussex, while Phillip will campaign with Lancashire.

The pair played crucial roles in Trinidad and Tobago Red Force’s innings and 56-run victory over Barbados Pride inside two days in the West Indies Four-day Championships, at Kensington Oval in Barbados.

Phillip took six wickets in that game, boosting his tally to ten from four games. Meanwhile, Seales has claimed nine scalps in four matches, four of those coming in their latest win against the Pride.

Veteran cricket commentator, Joseph ‘Reds’ Perriera, says while it may be good for West Indies cricket it may prove devastating for the Red Force’s title quest.

Perriera believes Trinidad and Tobago options are limited.
