Jamaican international Kaheim Dixon will be spending the 2025/26 season in the English Football League (EFL) League Two as he joins Crawley Town on a season-long loan from EFL Championship club Charlton Athletic.
Charlton confirmed the move yesterday which will see the 20-year-old forward joining Crawley Town as he looks to get more first-team minutes and further his football development.
Nathan Jones, head coach for Charlton, said, with the club’s recent acquisitions and promotion to the Championship, now is the right time for him to go out on loan.
“Kaheim is a young player with lots of talent, and, for his development, he needs to be playing senior football and scoring goals,” Jones said about the loan move.
“Given the additions we’ve made to the squad this summer, the club stepping up to the Championship and, with his age, now is the time for Kaheim to go out on loan and play regularly.”
Jones, however, confirmed Dixon’s time at Charlton has not yet come to a close, as the club values the forward as one for the future.
He said the club will be closely monitoring Dixon’s development while at Crawley Town, and will welcome the player back into fold at the end of the season.
“He goes to a good club, we’ll be following his progress closely and he’ll come back to us in a good position having had the opportunity to play regular senior football.”
Dixon joined Charlton in the summer transfer window last year, signing a four-year deal with the English club.
He featured mainly with Charlton’s U21 squad, where he impressed with his prolific goalscoring record which saw him earning five appearances with the first team throughout last season.
He joins a Crawley Town team which had been relegated from the EFL League One last season after finishing 21st with a record of 12 wins, 10 draws and 24 defeats.
It has been a poor start to season for Crawley Town, as they are winless in all games, losing their first two games of League Two against Newport and Grimsby, and sit 23rd in the standings.
They have also been knocked out of the Carabao Cup after a first-round defeat to Swansea.
Crawley Town’s next game of the season will see them taking on Crewe Alexandra today in league action.
