A powerful wave of Jamaican talent has taken center stage at the 68th Grammy Awards, as albums by Vybz Kartel, Jesse Royal, Lila Ike, Keznamdi, and Mortimer have all been nominated for Best Reggae Album. The nominations were officially announced on November 8, 2025.

Jesse Royal earns his second career nomination with No Place Like Home, a project widely praised for its soulful storytelling and modern roots energy. Also securing a second Grammy nod is dancehall icon Vybz Kartel, whose album Heart & Soul stood out to the Recording Academy despite his long-standing incarceration.

Making their debut appearances on the Grammy ballot are two of reggae’s most compelling rising voices. Mortimer, whose rich vocals and introspective songwriting have earned him international respect, received his first nomination for From Within. Lila Ike, a breakout force from Jamaica’s new-roots wave, celebrates her first nomination as well for Treasure Self Love, an album that has gained critical acclaim for its fusion of vulnerability, empowerment, and sonic elegance.

Rounding out the list is Keznamdi with Blood & Fyah, a project known for its fierce lyricism, cultural depth, and modern reggae production.

This year’s lineup signals a vibrant and diverse moment for reggae, spotlighting both legendary contributors and powerful new voices shaping the future of the genre.
