Reggae legend Jimmy Cliff dies at 81; wife issues statement
Reggae has lost one of its giants.
Jimmy Cliff, the global icon behind classics like Many Rivers to Cross and The Harder They Come, has passed away at age 81.
In a moving statement, his wife, Latifa Chambers shared that he “crossed over due to a seizure followed by pneumonia.”
She thanked fans, family, friends, fellow artists, and coworkers who supported him throughout his journey, saying their love was his strength for his entire career.
She also expressed deep gratitude to the medical team for their unwavering support during his final days.
