Country-reggae singer Wesrok is embracing a message of faith and purpose with his latest single, God Knows Me Better, a deeply personal release that is resonating with listeners both spiritually and commercially.
The gospel-inspired ballad recently gained traction on the United States iTunes chart, appearing alongside established international artists and marking another milestone in the singer’s steadily growing career.
According to Wesrok, the song was born out of reflection on life’s deeper meaning and humanity’s relationship with God.
“I wrote this song because I believe that at some point in your life, you have to look at where you are and the world at large and ask the question: Why are we here?” he said.
“Instead of doing things that take you further away from God, it is better to do the things that draw you closer. It is personally beneficial and can inspire the world.”
Unlike many artists who point to a dramatic spiritual awakening, Wesrok describes his faith journey as a gradual process shaped by introspection, life experiences, and a growing understanding of Christianity.
“There was no single defining moment,” he explained. “I have come to realise that there is a God and there is a standard in life that you have to emulate and exemplify.”
“The conclusion is that you have to pull yourself closer to the Creator. No one is perfect. I want to be counted among the people who recognise that God exists and that He is the author and finisher of our faith.”
That conviction is woven throughout God Knows Me Better, which blends country storytelling with gospel influences to create a message of hope, faith, and self-discovery.
The single has already generated strong interest. Wesrok said more than 500 pre-orders were recorded ahead of its release, helping propel the track onto the U.S. iTunes charts.
“I am awaiting the actual sales figures, but I know we made over 500 during the pre-order stage,” he said.
For Wesrok, the achievement is particularly significant given his unconventional path into the music industry.
Before pursuing music full-time, he served as a police officer, an experience that exposed him to both the challenges and triumphs of everyday life. Those encounters continue to influence his songwriting, which often explores themes of perseverance, redemption, love, and faith.
Five years ago, he made the decision to pursue music professionally and has since carved out a distinctive niche by fusing country, reggae, and inspirational music.
His breakthrough single, Ride Cowboy Ride, earned industry attention and was included on the provisional consideration list for Best Country Solo Performance at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
Wesrok has also demonstrated his versatility through collaborations across genres, including Try to Hold Me with dancehall star Masicka and True Love featuring Big Mountain.
Despite the growing recognition, Wesrok says success means little without purpose.
That philosophy lies at the heart of God Knows Me Better, which he describes as more than a song, but a reflection of his personal faith journey.
As audiences continue to respond to its message, the singer believes the track demonstrates that music rooted in honesty, conviction, and spirituality can still connect deeply with listeners.
For Wesrok, God Knows Me Better is not only a career milestone, but a declaration of the faith that continues to guide his path forward.
