Defending champions the Queens School and last year’s beaten finalist, Holy Childhood High School, were big winners as the ISSA high school girls’ basketball competition which tipped off on Monday at three venues.

In games played at the Queens School courts, the hosts were too good for Excelsior High School and ran out easy winners, 41-7.

Leading the charge for the Queens were De-eziah Martin with 16 points and Donae Brown with 14.

Despite the win, coach Donlad Bimmer was not 100 per cent satisfied with the team’s performance.
