Dancehall artiste ReniGAD has returned with Afro Walk, a high-energy fusion of Afrobeats and hardcore dancehall sparking a street and party movement. The track combines Africa’s infectious rhythms with the gritty edge of Jamaican dancehall, creating a bold, cross-cultural anthem. Dancehall staple Shelly Belly adds her signature flair, elevating the track’s energy even further.
Dance-driven hits are nothing new for ReniGAD. As a former member of chart-topping group RDX, he helped create dance anthems like Dancers Anthem, Movements, and the viral LOL, along with numerous tracks aimed at the ladies. With Afro Walk, he returns to that winning formula.
The inspiration for Afro Walk was personal. After a recent trip to Africa, ReniGAD reconnected with the Motherland and was inspired to bring home a fresh, movement-driven track.
“Afrobeats and dancehall have always been close relatives, so for me Afro Walk is a family reunion in music. Africans and Jamaicans have one thing in common – we love to dance. The beat of the music itself proves it. I recognised that this is where the movement of dancehall is heading this season leading into summer, and I decided to contribute something that will kick-start that energy,” ReniGAD explained.
The song and its dance move are gaining momentum, so much so that ReniGAD is centring his upcoming birthday celebration on February 28 at 102A Molynes Road around the track.
