Rihanna’s reign continues — even without a new album in nearly a decade. The global icon has set a new streaming milestone, becoming the Black female artist with the highest monthly listener count in Spotify history.
Music analytics outlet Chart Data confirmed that Rihanna surpassed 100.7 million monthly listeners, while Roc Nation celebrated the achievement, writing: “That @Rihanna reign just won’t let up.”
Spotify’s monthly listener metric reflects the number of unique users who stream an artist within a 28-day period. Crossing the 100-million mark places Rihanna among an exclusive group that includes The Weeknd, Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, and Lady Gaga — showcasing the enduring power of her music catalogue.
With eight albums spanning nearly two decades, Rihanna’s biggest streaming hits include global anthems such as We Found Love (ft. Calvin Harris), Umbrella, Only Girl (In the World), Where Have You Been, Diamonds, and Love on the Brain. Her genre-spanning discography continues to attract new listeners daily, proving her status as one of the most influential artists of her generation.
The milestone comes as Rihanna celebrates 20 years since the release of her debut album, Music of the Sun. In August, she reflected on Instagram about leaving Barbados to pursue her dreams, thanking fans, collaborators, and family for their unwavering support:
“God’s been very generous to me and the Glory belongs to Him! #R20”
The post highlighted career-defining moments — from her early chart-toppers and her record-setting Super Bowl Halftime Show to her trailblazing success with Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty.
Even after years away from dropping a studio album, Rihanna remains a dominant force in music and pop culture. One hundred million monthly listeners is just the latest reminder: her reign truly won’t let up.
