Roads, infrastructure and water are the top issues facing voters in North Central Clarendon as they prepare to head to the polls in the next General Election.

That’s according to a recent Bluedot poll.

The poll, which finds the incumbent Robert Morgan with a near 12-point lead over this challenger, the People’s National Party’s Dr. Aujae Dixon, was conducted in June.

It canvassed the views of 400 registered voters in the crucial Clarendon seat. The poll has a margin of error of +/- 5 per cent.

When asked what were the most important issues they believed their member of parliament should focus on, 22.7 per cent identified water access, while 22 per cent pointed to roads and infrastructure.

Nearly 12 per cent of respondents highlighted jobs and employment as their key issues.

Youth opportunities were the next big item, with 10 per cent of respondents identifying them as their top issue.

Morgan, who is the country’s works minister, says he’s working to fix the water and infrastructure problems faced by his constituents.

North Central Clarendon is expected to be a key seat on election night.

It forms part of the northern Clarendon belt that the Jamaica Labour Party is hoping to hold on to, as it seeks a third term in government.
