A romantic drama unfolding in the pulse of Jamaica, featuring Dean, a student who balances caring for his ailing mother while operating a backyard cook shop. When his class is tasked with Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Dean starts to envision himself as Romeo and his secret crush Erica, the girl next door, as Juliet.

Romeo N Juliet 4EVA is based on William Shakespeare’s timeless play and is written, directed and produced by Jamaican-British film-maker Paul Bucknor, co-writer, Better Mus’ Come (2011) and co-producer, The Full Monty (Academy Award winner Best Original Musical or Comedy Score, 1998).

Captured in Jamaica by home-grown cinematographer Gareth Cobran, Romeo N Juliet 4EVA introduces Deshawn Miller and Shanice Gowans, then students of Haile Selassie High School, as the star-crossed couple.

Directed and written by Jon Gunn, the pic follows 12-year-old Austin (Jacob Laval), who is the ultimate ’90s kid – funny, loves life, loves pancakes and instantly makes friends with everyone he meets. When his father, Scott (Zachary Levi), learns Austin has autism and osteogenesis imperfecta (brittle bone disease), at first, he only can see his son through society’s misconceptions about his disabilities. But with Scott’s growing faith and Austin’s incredible spirit, Scott discovers the excitement for life that comes so naturally to his son. And he learns that being “unbreakable” is about finding joy and gratitude even in the most trying times.
