Barbadian all-rounder, Roston Chase, has been named the new captain of the West Indies Test team.
Chase, replaces fellow Bajan, Kraigg Braithwaite, who recently stepped down from the role.
Chase, 33, is one of six players who interviewed for the role over the past two weeks. He emerged ahead of Tevin Imlach, John Campbell, Joshua Da Silva, Justin Greaves and Jomel Warrican.
In his career, Chase has played 49 Tests. He’s scored 265 runs, including five centuries, at an average of 26.33 runs.
Chase will make his debut as West Indies Test captain on June 25 at Kensington Oval in Barbados when the men from the Caribbean host Australia in a three Test tour.
