The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) says customers in parts of northwest Trinidad are without water due to a ruptured discharge pipeline at the El Socorro Booster Station.
WASA said the damage to the 30-inch transmission main occurred around 9 pm on Monday 11 August 2025. Repair crews have been on site since overnight, and a timeframe for completing emergency repairs and restoring supply will be provided in a later update.
The affected areas are:
El Socorro, Barataria, Aranguez, Morvant
Eastern Main Road Laventille, Laventille Road, East Dry River, downtown Port-of-Spain
Beetham Gardens, Belmont, Woodbrook
St Ann’s, Cascade, St James, Long Circular Road
Dundonald Hill, Cocorite, Westmoorings
WASA said that once repairs are completed, it may take up to 24 hours for supply to normalise in some areas.
A limited truck-borne water service is available on request, with priority given to health care institutions. Requests can be made via WASA’s customer portal at www.wasa.gov.tt or by calling the toll-free customer call centre at 800-4420/4426.
