National champion Rushell Clayton continued her impressive 2024 season with the only Jamaican victory at the Oslo Diamond League meeting in Norway, today.
Clayton led home a Jamaican sweep clocking 54.02 seconds with Andrenette Knight second in 54.03 and Janieve Russell third 55.07 seconds in the women’s 400 metres hurdles.
Natoya Goule-Toppin clocked a season best 1:59.10 to finish second in the women’s 800 metres.
World champion Shericka Jackson finished a disappointing fifth in the women’s 200-metres in 22.97 seconds.
Brittany Brown of USA won in 22.32 seconds, with Marie-Josée Ta Lou-Smith of the Ivory Coast second in 22.36 seconds.
Rohan Watson was a sixth place finisher in the men’s 100m in 10.23 seconds with countryman Yohan Blake finishing seventh in 10.29 seconds.
The event went to South Africa’s Akani Simbine in a season best 9.94 seconds
Rusheen McDonald finished 8th in the men’s 400 metres in 47.60 seconds as Britain’s Matthw Hudson Smith won in an area record 44.07 seconds.
Fderick Dacres did 65.06 meters for sixth in the men’s shot put.
