Salvation Army Distributes 600 Christmas Grocery Vouchers Nationwide

The Salvation Army rolled out its annual Christmas voucher distribution today, providing grocery assistance to hundreds of vulnerable Belizeans across Belize, as part of its holiday outreach efforts. A total of six hundred Christmas grocery vouchers, each valued at fifty dollars, were issued at distribution centers throughout the city. The initiative, which primarily supports senior citizens, also extends assistance to persons with disabilities and unemployed individuals who may be experiencing financial hardship during the Christmas season. Major Marc Eddy Momplaisir, who was present at today’s distribution, explained that the voucher program is made possible through donations to its annual Kettle Appeal, with every contribution going directly toward helping Belizeans in need.

Major Momplaisir described the initiative as a sign of hope, reminding recipients that they are not forgotten, especially during a time of year that can be emotionally and financially difficult for many. Among those benefiting from today’s distribution was Iris Belisle, who says this is her second year receiving a Christmas voucher. She shared that she looks forward to the initiative each year and values the support it provides during the holidays, while encouraging Belizeans to continue supporting the program.

The Salvation Army says its Christmas outreach activities will continue in the coming days, including plans to host a Christmas dinner for residents of its Night Shelter.
