Residents of San Felipe Village in the Toledo District are coming together to support families whose homes were destroyed in a fire over the weekend. In the aftermath of the blaze, community members have mobilized to assist with clearing debris and beginning the process of rebuilding the damaged houses. Villagers say the effort reflects the strong sense of unity and resilience that has long defined the small northern community. Senior correspondent Paul Mahung visited San Felipe earlier today, where he observed residents working side by side to help affected families recover from the loss. Mahung spoke with Village Chairman Mr. Choco and Village Elder Victor Sho, who explained that the response from villagers has been overwhelming, with many offering labor, materials, and other forms of support to help rebuild the homes.
Residents say the rebuilding effort will continue in the coming days as the community works collectively to restore the homes and help the affected families return to normal life as quickly as possible.
