A man from the Orange Walk District is facing charges after allegedly brandishing a firearm while drinking at a popular establishment in San Jose Village over the weekend. Police say the incident happened just before eight o’clock on Saturday night at Noh Mul Cool Spot, where officers responded to reports of a man showing off his weapon to other patrons. Upon arrival, the responding officers approached a group of three men seated at the counter consuming beer. A search was conducted, which led to the discovery of a black 9mm Glock pistol with ten live rounds tucked in the waistband of 49-year-old Reinaldo Teck, a resident of San Jose Village. When questioned, Teck presented his firearm license; however, officers reported detecting a strong smell of alcohol on his breath. Teck was escorted to the Orange Walk Police Station, where he provided a urine sample for alcohol testing. The firearm and ammunition were photographed by the Scenes of Crime Technician and sealed in a gun box in the presence of Teck and a Justice of the Peace. On the following day, Teck was formally arrested and charged for the possession of a firearm whilst under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
