San Jose Village Inaugurates Upgraded Water System to Improve Reliability

Residents of San Jose Village in the Toledo District stand to benefit from improved water reliability following today’s inauguration of an upgraded water system and expansion. The initiative forms part of the government’s ongoing commitment to the United Nation’s sustainable development goals which promise to have sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.  Minister of Rural Transformation Oscar Requena highlighted the vision he has to better the life of rural families.

Health and nutrition specialist Dr. Olusola Oladeji representing UNICEF also shared his remarks. Stating boldly that Belize is rapidly improving thanks to a well thought out strategy and the efforts of the ministry, standing by the Rural Transformation as they work to curb the drastic climate change issue that we are now facing.

CEO Valentino Shal also took to the podium addressing the fulfillment of a promise to have clean potable water for every child and adult across Belize.
