On September 24, the San Fernando Creative Arts Centre will transform into a portal to the past when ten talented local designers breathe new life into “old-time days” through the power of fashion. Stories From in de OLD House promises to be a nostalgic, style-packed journey like no other.
The excitement was sparked at the official media launch of San Fernando Fashion Week (SFW) 2025, held at the Madison Lounge on Sutton Street. Guests were treated to an enticing preview that whetted their appetite for what is shaping up to be an unforgettable night of high fashion infused with cultural storytelling.
Coordinator of SFW, Deron Attzs, explained the inspiration behind this year’s theme.
“This year’s edition of Fashion Week will centre around the theme Stories from in de OLD House, which aims to revive and celebrate fading traditions often forgotten by the present generation. The event will fuse theatre, arts, music, and fashion, all coming together on one stage to narrate these stories through stunning presentations,” he said.
Beyond the runway, Attzs emphasized SFW’s ongoing commitment to giving back.
He said, “San Fernando Fashion Week has always been committed to philanthropy. For 2025, we are partnering with a primary school in San Fernando to assist with some of their needs, and we will also collaborate with the Torrance Mohammed Foundation to support its Christmas charity hampers.”
This year’s lineup features some of the most exciting names in local design, including Bold Designs, DADL Clothing Label, Johari Designs, Arron Moneer Designs, Buffalo Soldier Designs, Josiah Fashion House, Bee’s Accessories Style Designs, Lesa G Designs, along with one guest designer. Each will showcase 12 pieces guaranteed to leave the audience in awe.
A legacy of style
San Fernando Fashion Week was founded 16 years ago by Attzs, inspired by the success of New York Fashion Week and its ability to unite a city’s creative community.
Determined to build a similar platform in T&T, he returned from the United States with a vision—to spotlight emerging creatives and give them an opportunity to share their artistry with the world.
Since then, Sando Fashion Week has become a cornerstone of the local creative industry.
Many designers who once graced its stage have gone on to find success regionally and internationally, proving that the event is more than a fashion showcase—it is a launchpad for Caribbean talent.
With its unique blend of nostalgia, artistry, and philanthropy, Stories From in de OLD House is set to be one of San Fernando Fashion Week’s most memorable chapters yet.
