Santa Cruz Police Expand Community Outreach and Promote Neighborhood Watch Program

Police in the Stann Creek District continue to strengthen their relationship with residents through community outreach initiatives aimed at fostering trust, improving communication, and enhancing public safety. Earlier today, officers attached to the Santa Cruz Police Sub-Station conducted a Meet and Greet operation in Santa Cruz Village, where residents were given an opportunity to engage directly with law enforcement and discuss issues affecting their community.  The initiative was led by Officer Commanding the Santa Cruz Sub-Station, Inspector K. Borland, along with Community Policing Officer P. Palacio Jr., Traffic Supervisor Sergeant A. Lambey, and other police personnel assigned to the operation.  During the outreach effort, officers visited six homes in the village and met with residents to hear their concerns, provide safety advice, and encouraged greater cooperation between the community and the police department.  Another key focus of the operation was raising awareness about the benefits of establishing a Neighborhood Watch Program. Officers explained how community participation can play a vital role in deterring criminal activity and improving overall security within the village.  Police say the Meet and Greet initiative forms part of ongoing community policing efforts designed to strengthen partnerships with residents, build public confidence in law enforcement, and create safer communities through collaboration and open communication.
