School bus runs resume following halt over late payments

School bus transportation services across the country are once again fully operational. The Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology confirmed this afternoon that all school bus runs have resumed following the processing of payments under new contracts.  The announcement follows recent disruptions that affected students and teachers, particularly in rural communities. Some school bus contractors had reportedly suspended their services while awaiting payment from the government.  The Ministry thanked parents, students, teachers, principals and contractors for their patience and cooperation during the interruption. It also reaffirmed its commitment to providing students and teachers with safe and reliable transportation to and from school.
