Opposition Spokesman on Justice, Senator Donna Scott Mottley, is accusing the JLP government of seeking to prematurely shut down Parliament to prevent the tabling of the Integrity Commission’s annual report.
Senator Scott Mottley made the accusation while addressing PNP supporters in Eastern St. Andrew.
The Integrity Commission has not named any particular parliamentarian in its annual report as being under investigation for illicit enrichment.
The Commission confirmed on Thursday that it had submitted its annual report for 2024/2025 to Parliament for tabling.
This is the Commission’s seventh annual report since it came into operation.
The report was received and signed for at the Parliament some time after 1 Thursday afternoon.
It is not clear whether the report will be tabled and made public before the Parliament heads off on summer recess.
