SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – Jordan Scott produced a career-best performance on his way to capturing gold in the men’s triple jump at the Coqui International Cup in Puerto Rico on Sunday.

The 28-year-old Jamaican leapt 17.66 metres, a new world lead, to finish well ahead of the USA pair of James Carter (16.78m) and Salif Mane (16.75m).

It improved on his previous best of 17.52m set in July 2025. The jump was also the longest by a Jamaican since Jaydon Hibbert jumped 17.75m in June 2024 when he set the Racers Grand Prix meet record.

Scott’s performance continued his impressive start to the year that saw him cop silver at the World Athletics Indoor Championships.
