Sean “Diddy” Combs has officially filed a Notice of Appeal in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, challenging his recent conviction and sentence in the federal case United States of America v. Sean Combs (Docket No. 1:24-cr-00542).

According to court filings obtained by World Music Views, Combs’ legal team, led by Alexandra A.E. Shapiro of Shapiro Arato Bach LLP, submitted the notice on October 20, 2025, marking the first step in what is expected to be a lengthy appellate process. The appeal will be reviewed by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, which oversees federal cases from New York, Connecticut, and Vermont.

The document, signed by District Judge Arun Subramanian, confirms that Combs is appealing both his conviction and sentence, which were entered on October 15, 2025, and amended on October 16, 2025. The filing specifies that Combs was found guilty following a jury trial, not a plea agreement, and that he is currently committed to federal custody.

A separate Notice of Electronic Filing shows the appeal was logged at 4:26 p.m. EDT on Monday, with the docket entry noting the transmission of the notice and certified copy of the docket sheet to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

Combs was convicted of the Mann Act prostitution charges with his ex-girlfriends Cassie and AJne Doe. He was sentenced on October 3, 2025, following a months-long high-profile trial that drew significant public and media attention. His defense team has not yet issued a formal statement, but the appeal suggests they will argue that errors occurred during the trial or sentencing phases.
