Search for new BOJ governor begins

The search has started for a successor to Governor of the Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) Richard Byles whose appointment is set to end on August 18. In making the announcement in a media release on Monday, Finance Minister Fayval Williams said the search will take place in keeping with the principles of transparency and good governance. Williams said the process will identify the best-suited candidate to lead the Bank of Jamaica in entrenching stability, modernising the financial system, including accelerating digital payments into everyday economic activity.
