JLP candidate in North Central St Andrew, Delano Seiveright says plans are underway to upgrade the Manor Park bus lay-by in the constituency.
The bus lay-by is an area occupied by vendors who operate micro businesses and market vendors.
Speaking with our news centre on Tuesday, Seiveright says he intends to work with stakeholders to improve the aesthetics of the area.
Residents of Norbrook and Manor Park have been fuming in Whatsapp groups, decrying the disorder and indiscipline on display among vendors, bus drivers, conductors and loader men.
The residents are also concerned that a nearby lot is being used as an open air toilet by persons who frequent the layby.
Seiveright says the planned upgrade of the area will include gardening, construction of restroom facilities and the development of a comfortable area for persons awaiting JUTC buses.
Meanwhile, Seiveright is seeking to assure residents that their views will be taken into consideration before the first block is laid in the redevelopment project.
