Injury has robbed Jamaica of several key players ahead of the start of their crucial final round Concacaf World Cup Qualifiers.

Coach Steve McLaren outlined the gravity of the situation at a presser this morning at the JFF headquarters in New Kingston where the squad was announced.

Philadelphia Union goalkeeper Andre Blake, AS Roma on loan winger Leon Bailey and Coventry City’s Joel Latibeaudiere are some of the key names missing through injury.

Steve McLaren, has accepted the reality of the situation but says it also provides opportunities for others to step up.

Shaquan Davis of Mount Pleasant Academy is expected to fill the vacancy left by Blake with Jahmali Waite and Tafari Chambers also pushing for the shirt.

Issac Hayden and Mason Holgate are back from injury while Shamar Nicholson gets a recall.

Despite being without a club and not playing at the moment, Michail Antonio has been called up while Ian Fray from Inter Miami is also in the squad.

The final round of qualifiers for the Reggae Boyz will kick off on September 5 when they travel to Hamilton to play against Bermuda, which will be followed up by a September 9 clash at the National Stadium against Caribbean rivals Trinidad and Tobago.
