Reggae and dancehall megastar Shaggy says one of the highlights of his career was performing for the King of Pop in 2001.
Taking to social media earlier this week, Shaggy shared footage of himself and Rik Rok performing their year 2000, hit collaboration “It Wasn’t Me‘. In the caption, he wrote in part, “Legends live forever.”
In the clip, shaggy and Rik Rok command the stage in front of a packed audience, which notably included Michael Jackson. The King of Pop can be seen nodding along after shaggy mentions that he had heard the track was one of Jackson’s favorites.
The nostalgic moment comes as the new biopic, michael, which premiered on april 24, continues its theatrical run in most major markets—except japan, where it is slated to premiere in june.
