President of Cricket West Indies, Dr Kishore Shallow, celebrates the incredible success of the ICC men’s T20 World Cup co-hosted by Wet Indies and USA, last year.
Dr. Shallow says the World Cup was more than a sporting event, but a transformative moment for the region.
He says the tournament not only solidifies the Caribbean’s position as the heartbeat of the world of cricket, but also for a hub for economic growth, tourism and global investment.
Dr. Shallow says the World Cup injected US$1.66 billion into the economies of the host nations.
He says the six host countries must be proud.
Dr. Shallow says the figures should not be looked at as just statistics.
