Shooting in Lord’s Bank Leaves 1 Dead, 4 Injured

A shooting last night in Lord’s Bank Village, Belize District, has left 4 injured and one dead. The incident, which occurred shortly after 9:00, claimed the life of 20-year-old Justin Animo and injured four others, namely, 20-year-old Emerson Jeffords, 21-year-old Jose Rodriguez, 21-year-old Jayden Martinez, and a 14-year-oldr. The victims were reportedly socializing when two men on a motorcycle drove by and opened fire before fleeing the scene. Love News understands that the motive behind the attack may be rooted in a domestic issue.

Dr. Richard Rosado, Commissioner of Police: “Our initial investigation revealed that five individuals were socializing in a yard in the Lords Bank area when a motorcycle with two individuals approached them and the passenger opened fire at them injuring five of them.  One of the individuals later succumbed to his injuries.  We have one person in custody and we looking for two other persons of interest. We are practically looking at several different theories and one of the theories is  domestic related. From our information, we believe that one of the individuals there was the target who succumbed to this injuries.”

Justin Amino was an employee at AQ Rentals for just over six months.  Despite his short stint at the establishment, his coworkers have fond memories of his time with them. Two of his colleagues described him as hard working and loyal.

Coworker: “They hit all of us really hard to be honest because personally I was no aware. I saw the news and I was asleep and I woke up like around one o’clock and I decided to just scroll through Facebook and I saw the news about five persons getting shot in Lords Bank. It didn’t cross my mind that it was one of my coworkers at that point but this morning my assistant supervisor was downstairs and he was speaking to someone on the phone and I heard him mention that one of our coworkers got killed. So as soon as he got off the phone I was like “Who was it.” And so when he started to mention it was Jaylen and his brother I mean it just left me in silence for a moment. I mean when everyone really found out what happened we were all kind of sad.”
Coworker: “He was a nice, humble guy. Always fun to hang with. He would always cheer up your day. Always made sure you were happy and once he brings food he would always share with you and make sure you ate too.”

As it relates to the other persons injured, the minor has been released from the hospital while the three others remain hospitalized in stable condition.
