Shyne Plans International Album and Documentary After Political Exit

And while Shyne Barrow is being excluded from the UDP’s list of past leaders in good standing, the 47-year-old is looking to release an international album and a bio documentary.  According to Barrow, he is entering a phase of creativity shaped by life experience, maturity, and lessons learned from Belizean politics.  Shyne’s forthcoming album, The Honorable Shyne, is expected to reflect the evolution of his worldview — drawing from his journey through global fame, incarceration, public service, and personal growth. According to Shyne, the music is rooted in the idea that truly meaningful art is timeless, speaking to universal human realities rather than passing trends.  He explained that his years in politics added a new layer to his understanding of people, struggle, leadership, and responsibility, all of which now influence his songwriting. Shyne said those experiences have refined his voice, allowing him to approach music with greater depth, intention, and clarity.

Alongside the album, Shyne is also working on a bio-documentary that will chronicle his life story in full, from his rise in the hip-hop industry and the challenges that followed, to his return to Belize and eventual entry into national leadership. The documentary is being developed through international production partners, with distribution and representation supported by his recent signing with CAA Music Agency, positioning the project for a global audience.  The film is expected to feature personal reflections, archival footage, and behind-the-scenes insight into both his music career and political life, offering context to the themes explored in The Honorable Shyne. According to Shyne, the documentary and album are intentionally designed to complement each other, one telling the story visually, the other through music.
