A single father, David Raymundo Soriano, has been ordered to pay $8,000 in compensation for causing the death of his friend, Geraldo Antonio Lopez, in a 2021 traffic accident. Soriano had pleaded guilty to causing death by careless conduct. Justice Nigel Pilgrim ordered the payment to Lopez’s family by July 2026, with a default of one year imprisonment. The fatal accident occurred on November 5, 2021, on the George Price Highway in Cayo District. Soriano was originally charged with manslaughter by negligence.
