Police in Orange Walk Town have launched a death investigation following the discovery of skeletal remains inside a small, abandoned wooden house along the Orange Walk Bypass earlier today. Authorities say the remains were found by a caretaker who was conducting routine checks in the area. Upon arrival, investigators processed the scene and found a Honduran passport believed to belong to the deceased, identifying him as 54-year-old Jose Alberto Jancinto. The Major Crimes Unit and Scenes of Crime personnel processed the location, and a Medico-Legal Investigation (MUI) has been launched to confirm the identity of the remains and determine the cause of death. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Jancinto’s death.
