Shayon Smith of St. Mary High posted the fastest time going into this afternoon’s final of the under-17 girl’s 100-metres at the Carifta trials now underway at GC Foster College.
Smith posted 11.92 seconds to win heat-2, Malayia Duncan of St. Jago was second in 12.09 and Edwin Allen’s Danielia Clarke third in 12.21.
Heat-2 went to Adora Campbell of St. Jago 11.94, with Rihanna Scott of Ferncourt third in 12.02 and Tashana Godfrey of Edwin Allen third in 12.06 seconds.
On the boys side, Michael Graham of Excelsior posted the fastest time winning heat-2 in 10.55 seconds, with Mario Ross second in 10.96 and Omarri Thomas third in 11 seconds flat.

In the under-20 girls 100-metres preliminary Sabrina Dockery of Lacovia High goes into that final with the fastest time 11.32 seconds.
Tyreece Foreman is the fastest man going into the men’s final with 10.37 seconds.
