Social media reacts as prosecutors seek nine-year sentence for Jah Cure

“Free up Jah Cure” and “Him neva learn from last time” are among the reactions flooding social media following reports that prosecutors want the Reggae artist to serve nine and a half years on the charge of attempted murder.

Jah Cure has been in pre-trial detention in Amsterdam while prosecutors appeal his 2022 conviction. He is expected to learn his fate in November when the Supreme Court delivers its ruling.

In March 2022, Jah Cure was sentenced to six years for attempted manslaughter but was acquitted of the attempted murder charge.

The charges stem from an October 2021 incident in which Jah Cure stabbed Dutch concert promoter Nicardo “Papa” Blake during a dispute over unpaid performance fees.
