South Africa “A” beat West Indies “A” by 42 runs at the Daren Sammy Stadium in St. Lucia on Wednesday night to take a 1-0 lead in their 50 over series.
South Africa posted 283 all out in 46.2 overs.
Jediah Blades took 3 for 31 while Kevlon Anderson and Kadeem Alleyne claimed two each.
In reply, the West Indies were dismissed for 241 in 44.1 overs. Anderson top scored with 45, Jevin Wickham, 39, and Alick Athanaze, 33.
Game two will be on Saturday at the same venue.
