South Africa’s brilliant young sprint star Bayanda Walaza will be in Kingston for the seveth staging of the Racers Grand Prix at the National Stadium on Saturday June 7.

Walaza will be one of four sprinters from South Africa added to the line-up along with Sinesi-pho Dambile, Gift Leot-lela and Naeem Jack.

Walaza the reigning world Under 20 sprint double champion and lead off runner on the South African sprint relay team that won at the World Relays a few weeks ago in world leading time, will contest the 100m along with Leot-lela.

Walaza has the world junior record in his sight after clocking 9.94 seconds to win the 100m in Zagreb this past weekend.

He says it would be great if he gets the junior world record in Kingston where he’s always dreamed of running.

Meanwhile, world 200 metre champion Shericka Jackson and Olympic sprint hurdles bronze medallist Rasheed Broadbell have also been added to the list of stars down for the meet.

Jackson, who won the 100 metres at the Morocco Diamond League on Sunday, will contest her pet event the 200 metres while Broadbell will look to add to his victory at the Doha Diamond League on Friday May 16.

Tickets for the Racers Diamond League will go on sale next Monday.
