The world’s top women’s football player Aitana Bonmati produced a moment of brilliance on Wednesday to steer World Champions Spain into the European Women’s Championship final.
Bonmati, the back to back female Balon d’Or winner scored from a tight angle with five minutes left in extra time as Spain beat a dogged Germany 1-nil in the second semi-final in Switzerland.
Spain will now face defending champions England in Sunday’s final, a repeat of the World Cup decider.
